BVI-registered A-Power Energy signs $300 mln contract with Thai corporation
A-Power Energy Generation Systems Ltd., the company registered in the British Virgin Islands and providing distributed power generation systems in China through its Chinese operating subsidiaries, announced the signing of memorandum of understanding for a $300 million agreement to build a power generation system in Thailand. The BVI corporation is going to develop 600-megawatt project in Chachengsao Province for National Power Supply Co., a subsidiary of Thai conglomerate Advance Agro Public Co. The project is to begin in August, and conclude 42 months thereafter.
On the day the announcement was made, the US-listed shares of A-Power Energy rose $1.98, or 8.3%, to $25.93.
